Can you synchro face down monsters

By Instinct. Evolution , November 30, in Yu-Gi-Oh! Rulings and Organized Play. That monster cannot be summoned from the graveyard via effects such as Monster Reborn or Call of the Haunted, correct? Yes you can reborn it or No you can't. If you yugi nerds are still in debate how would i expect it to be rulled at an event until something official comes out?

Thats all I care to know about. Booking something just to have it Solemn'd later effectively renders irrelevant the entire history of the monster whose most recent Summon was negated.

It doesn't matter whether or not the monster was once Summoned properly in some way; the fact remains that it needed to be Summoned again, and that the attempt to do so failed, and as a result, the monster cannot be considered eligible for Special Summon from the Grave or RFP. Summoned first" are why this thread was so problematic; we didn't know if a proper Summon was good enough to permit revival in the face of a thousand other improper Summons.

We now know; it isn't. So, rewrite! Is that the same as if my stardust gets booked, then I flip it face-up and use its effect; it cannot come back? Sorry to bump but I didn't wanna start a new thread about something related just to get linked here.

Going with the above quote, just to clarify, does this apply the same if a Stardust attempts to SS during the end phase and it's summon is negated in anyway RO, Solemn, etc? Its Summon wasn't negated, because it wasn't attempting to Summon itself. It was attempting to resolve and apply its effect that would Special Summon it. There is "no Summon to Negate", such that your little dilemma makes no sense. Ok, to reword it and going with what you're saying, because RO or Warning is negating the effect and no an inherent summon, it can be special summoned by another cards effect later on?

Remember the rulebook - a Special Summon Monster is a monster that can't be Normal Summoned, can't be Set, and has a specific limitation on how it may be Special Summoned as well. Stardust can't be NS'd or Set, and it's SSable from hand or deck in only one proper way, listed in the rulebook. Stardust is not Special Summoning itself from proper location by proper method during the End Phase. It's activating an effect. There is no Summon to Negate here, thus there's no way to negate the earlier "proper Summon from proper location by proper method" at this time.
